Therese Caouette

Co-Founder

Located in Bangkok, Thailand & Seattle, WA

Therese studied community organizing as a bright-eyed 19-year old, and never strayed far from these roots.  For her, making deep change in the world by holding up the local voice is something that lives in her bones.

Therese has over 40 years of experience working with some of the most isolated and marginalized populations in the Mekong Region of Southeast Asia.   In all her varied initiatives, she takes a supporting role, spotlighting the knowledge of community leaders, and setting the stage so their voice and wisdom are heard and respected.

Therese has a Master’s degree in Public Health from Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, and is currently on faculty at Thammasat University in the School of Global Studies.  She is also an active Board member for several non-profits in Seattle, San Francisco, and Southeast Asia.

Hal Nathan

Co-Founder

Located in Inverness, CA
Hal is the kind of person who wants to address issues at their root. For him, elevating women to positions of power is vitally important—not only for reasons of gender equity, but also to produce the positive global climate changes that result.

As someone involved in Buddhist meditation and practice for decades, Hal’s work is a central expression of loving-kindness and giving back to help others. Hal holds a PhD in Economics. He worked as an economist, then later as a partner and investments manager at a private management company.

Hal’s driving goals for Move92 are to make a major shift in philanthropic consciousness, and lead the way in getting significant resources devoted to empowering girls and women.

Michou Tchana-Hyman
Located in Bangkok, Thailand
Michou believes that if we are going to create sustainable solutions to the world’s wicked problems, it has to stem from community-led social innovation.

Having worked in Southeast Asia for the past eight years, Michou has seen many examples of development work–some are incredibly impactful, while others much less effective.

To him, the difference is four essential approaches:

1) Putting the community front and center

2) Embracing and encouraging creative failure

3) Approach social change from a Systems Thinking lens

4) Use simple data to learn and improve

Michou brings eight years of experience in youth development, social enterprise & innovation, and design thinking. He is an expert facilitator, program designer, avid storyteller, and people convener.
